As you prepare for your HSC PDHPE exams one of the best ways to prepare is to study to teach it. What I mean by that, is to study the content as though you were going to teach it to someone else. Or better yet, actually teach it to someone.

When you prepare to teach content to someone you force yourself to go the extra step. You need to break the content down and be able to apply it. Both of which are vital skills in PDHPE. Study to teach it to your parents, or a younger sibling.

If you can actually get them to spend the time learning from you, they will then ask questions that you need to answer, and you will have to come up with ways to test that they have learnt it. This will help you to better understand the questions asked in exams and what they are looking for. It may even have you coming up with the question that is in the exam… or at least close to it.

By studying to teach the content to someone else, you go over the content in more detail. You visit the content many times as you work out how to break it into chunks to teach and review it to check you have covered everything the syllabus requires. It helps you to determine what is important or what the key parts of the content are, which you will be required to teach, but also provide in your exams.
